September 2026 competition results
Our monthly competition is an opportunity for members to share the plants they have been growing and for everyone at the meeting to enjoy the variety, quality and character of the entries. Each month brings something different to the bench, from established classics to newer hybrids and carefully grown specimens.
For September, the published results include the winners in the Open, First and Second Divisions. The Open Division entry, Paph. Fantasia, was named Orchid of the Night. Its distinctive flower made a memorable centrepiece for the evening's results.
The First Division winner was Den. Jayden 'Goodie' AM/OSCOV × Australian Rhubarb Pie. This impressive Dendrobium cross reflects the colour and form that make these plants such a rewarding part of a collection.
In Second Division, Paph. Leeanum received the winning place. Paphiopedilums always invite a closer look, and this entry was no exception.

The full September results page now includes a dedicated photo panel for every division winner. The images allow members who could not attend, as well as orchid enthusiasts visiting the site, to see the plants behind the names.
Photographs are a useful record of the club's monthly competitions. They preserve the moment a plant is shown at its best and give growers ideas about the range of orchids that thrive in South Australian collections. Over time, these monthly result pages also build a valuable record of the club's growing and exhibiting activity.
Congratulations to our September winners
Congratulations to each of the September division winners, and thank you to every member who brought a plant along for display and judging. A competition bench is strongest when members at every experience level take part, whether they are showing a first flowering plant or a long-established favourite.
We also thank everyone involved in recording the results and photographs. Sharing the outcomes online helps keep our club community connected between meetings and makes it easier to celebrate the work that goes into growing these remarkable plants.
